MDB Foundation

MDB Foundations was founded with the mission to increase literacy, promote Indian art and culture and initiate sustainable community ser¬vice. Established on January 1st, 2015 Magnum DB Foundations has come a long way by making meaningful strides in the direction of giving back to the community in a significant way. Magnum DB Foundations (MDB), the CSR and Sustainability arm of Magnum Group of companies is proud to be celebrating its fifth Annual Day.

In the span of five years, MDB Foundations has steadily worked towards its mission and successfully executed the following:

- Established a fully functional pre-primary MDB School with 30 students from the less privileged section of the society. The children are taught through theme-based education techniques. They are also taught basic etiquettes and hygiene and through small play groups they are given the space to build their inner confidence and express with clarity.

- Established the MDB Kalakendra to preserve and promote Hindustani/ Indian and O culture and art. Various cultural classes includ¬ing classical dance and music, art etc. are held for interested children. Cultural programs and shows including Talent Hunt Contests are organized from time to time to keep the children motivated and inspired.

- MDB Foundations also has a community service’s wing which focuses on common zeal to work for the betterment of the not so privileged section of the society and bring them into the mainstream. Several initiatives are planned and implemented to give exposure and provide better living conditions for this section of the society like Health & Hygiene Awareness Workshops for Factory Workers, Moti¬vational & Meditational Programs, Blood Donation Drives, Relief Fund Campaigns and after Cyclone restoration work of schools and slum houses.

Art and Culture

At MDB Kalakendra, we organize a plethora of cultural events to broaden opportunities for lifelong learning. To name a few we actively organize events like Annual functions, art, fancy dress, dance and music competitions. Events organized not only blend learning with fun but also help to develop confidence in students to be a more creative version of themselves to establish a relationship with colour, music, and dance.

Culture is the glue that holds our community together. At MDB Kalakendra we celebrate many festivals to promote social solidarity, cohesion and community empowerment. Christmas, Diwali, Ganesh Puja, Saraswati Puja, etc are celebrated with great zeal every year. We take pride to celebrate Independence Day and Republic Day to enhance our knowledge and devotion to the country.

MDB Foundation has also humbly donated to Odisha Police Welfare, supports SoS orphanage and has provided for construction of Clock tower at Rasulgarh Chak.

Health & Environment

We, at MDB Foundation, are connecting with our society, to create awareness around the importance of staying fit and healthy. Our strong workforce, have families to nurture and influence their friends and colleagues in many domains of life. Their mental and physical health is of our utmost importance. For both women and men, MDB organized awareness and testing programs to help them overcome these diseases.

We also worked on prevention and resolution of cardiac and vitamins related issues, through engagement with doctors and weekly check-ups. To ensure our teams are following healthy diet and hygiene routine, MDB conducted an awareness program on the dangers of having gutka.

We strictly enforce and ensure that none of our factory workers are taking unrecommended food items. All of our teams participated in vision and dental check-up programs and were tested and recommended solutions wherever necessary.

MDB has also conducted mega blood donation camps, where most of our workers and teams participated, and have heartily contributed to the cause. Our yoga and spirituality classes, have worked well for making our teams have a calm and balanced look at all situations and to create a conducive and productive work environment. Magnum and MDB are committed to support the society and it’s people alongside our honorable government in difficult times like Cyclone Fani, Covid-19 being some examples. MDB has always come forward to support the Chief Minister Relief Fund with their humble contributions over the years.

Sports & Athletics

MDB Foundation has involved its students from MDB school, in various sports events over the years. The skills of coordination, the value of exercising which students learn at a young age would benefit them immensely as they grow up. Our Annual Sports function has various events ranging from races to obstacle challenges. With more than 100 students participating, the energy and enthusiasm of the participants spread to one and all.

Many senior leaders from various fields of sports and athletics have graced our events. Their presence and experience are of immense value to the budding stars of our Foundation. Some kids have a natural tendency to excel at sports, who learn more from real life than theories.
